  • replacing starter in an Argo Bigfoot

I have a 2004 Argo Bigfoot. The starter has gone bad. Do I have to pull the engine to replace the starter?
    thanks for the help

For me it's a toss up, but leaving the motor installed it's easy to get the starter out but going back in takes some patience and dexterity.

I have done this twice , once with my friends 2000 Bigfoot and again in my 2007 Frontier , it will help if you have a good light and a small mirror to see what your doing , but it can be done 2 10/11mm? bolts and a small hex head sheet metal screw for the shield over the bendix gear of the starter .. that and wiring connections.. Much easier if you have feeling in your fingers .. I don't any more ..nerve damage from spinal stenosis ...
      Good luck .

Its to bad the MFG never put the Hi torque starters in from the start. never buy a another one and installing them is much easier. Not sure if that model has the room though?
