Does anyone know if there is a kit to convert the twist throttle to a thumb throttle, or has anyone ever made one?

You could use the short MAX 2 cable kit and shorten it at the engine end. The lever has to have 1" plus of cable pull to get full throttle with most engines. Iv seen conversions with bicycle brake levers ect. Most of those don't have the travel the max( snowmobile type) levers have. Max# for cable is 12066 lever is # 12075.
