Another Conquest Project

I picked up this 98 Conquest recently to hopefully rebuild. The previous owner took it apart to rebuild it but never got around to it. I paid $200 for what was there, it's missing the motor, powerpack frame and the engine clutch. I have a couple plastic totes full of the rest of the parts. Looks like i'm going to be replacing all the barings and chains so far. Worst part is the powerpack frame is $250, i haven't been able to find a used one. I haven't decided what to use for an engine yet.

Great score, the frame and body both look good and that's a major start. If you have the trans the powerpack is a cheap investment, you could buy a B&S powerpack for a direct fit (though a lot of ducting will be necessary) using stock parts and put a 16-23 Vanguard in there.
I've just cut my powerpack for a similar project (Phil.) using a Predator engine.

The frame just has some surface rust, plan on blasting it and painting it. I do have the transmission.

Phil. was more money, further away, no engine, seats, clutch, frame rusted, missing axles and sprockets, etc.. Still experimenting but coming along, rolling chassis now with engine set in.


When you are bored, you learn some of the best lessons in life. You may also turn it into a meet the family trip you should have seen many times.

BTW Mississippi and Alabama are stupid hot.
