  • Argo Bigfoot carbr problem, please help :(

Hey guys I recently purchased an 06(?) Argo Bigfoot with the Briggs vanguard 18hp.
First thing I noticed was the fuel pump is bypassed, just feeds back into itself so essentially no pump being used but has no problems getting fuel.

My main problem is the carby is over fueling, pours out the overflow (return which isn't used on these from research).
I pulled the top off the carb as I couldn't see an easy way to get it off and all looked fine, needle still looks to be in good nick but I carby cleaned the whole lot including the jets etc.

Thought it was all good as it idled nice without issue until I drove it out to put on the trailer

Could anyone give me a suggestion?
I thought the needle and seat but it and the float appears to an amateur to be fine.

    Cheers guys

Ok found a small pump under the seat, seems very low volume as it dribbles into the inlet to the filter.
So can't see why the needle wouldn't stop it?

If you believe the needle and seat are seating try to adjust the float. That Kawasaki pump limits itself easily, so you could also remove the fuel line and stick your finger over the hose which should stop the flow easily.

My new beer holder spilled some on the trails - in it's hair and down it's throat.
      Joe Camel never does that.

Advice is free, it's the application that costs.

Pulled it apart for the 4th time for a clean and reassemble and now it seems fine

Hay mate I have just gone through the same thing with my 16 hp vanguard briggs tried every thing you could think of to fix it but in the end got new fuel pump $40 and new carburetor $250 and now runs like new.I did have a electric low pressure pump but went back to the original and have no problems .
