  • Need help finding switched power connection

I am trying to add auxiliary lights to my 2000 Response. Where can I locate a switched power wire that only provides power when the ignition is on? I have a 40 amp alternator installed. Thanks in advance for any help!

      JoeMeg,
Thanks for your response. If I read that page correct, the white wires inside the engine compartment should be switched power wires...?

Yes,but reailze that load goes thru the ign sw. Seems you have a pretty good grasp of schematics. I'd suggest just building a separate circuit to suit your needs . Use a relay, coil to that white wire (small load on ign sw contacts) batt to n/o contact on relay then to sw for your aux ltg. Aux lites will only work when ign sw is on and load will be on the relay contacts, that's their job.
