2002 conquest bearings

Hey,

I just finished changing a front drive chain as the previous one was loose. Figured while I had everything apart I would grease the spindle bearings and idler shaft bearings. Well even with the side grease gun fitting I had a hell of a time getting to the idler shaft bearings behind the brake disks......any tricks? Changing the chain was easy. Other note does the front drive shaft sprocket have set screws in it or is it a floating sprocket?

I had a hard time doing this the first time too. I used a side coupler with a pair of vise grips to hold it steady. I was practically upside down on my head with a flashlight making sure I had it lined up before pushing the coupler over the nipple... So ya headstand and vice grip worked for me...

I use a flex hose with side coupler on a 6" piece of 1/8" pipe so I have a handle to push on. The front sprockets and idler sprockets float.

Thanks on the front sprockets. After I posted I checked the parts catalogue and it showed no set "screw" on the fronts. I've got a long flex line on the grease gun and the side coupler.....that piece of pipe must be the trick I'm missing as I can't apply enough pressure to the nipple, time to remove the chains I guess. This gives me a chance to adjust them again before the cold weather comes.
