mu geared transmission in a 2004 conquest

I have a Conquest with a GU and one with a MU, both similarily set up. I prefer to run the MU now, the GU is too freakin LOUD (Trans noise). The MU goes all the same places, with the same loads. There are occasions where the MU has to be shifted down where the GU doesn't, but those times are rare. The minor Clutch Mods help (Shim the Primary spring, and tighten the Secondary spring)

Now that's a nice honest review for people.
We have 2 Conquests with the MU, my V2 with the HU (stands for hushed, ha ha) and Sandy's GU which is the loudest of all. Other than the occasional lag when loaded the MU does fine for recreational riding.

I think with you being at lower elevations (more air=more power) you will probably be fine. There are a few easy clutch mods you can do to these to get more low end out of them as well. Another factor would be how heavy of loads you are carrying.

I have a MU geared trans in my 2000 conquest with adair pro tracks. it does all I ever wanted. Only issue is when I need to make a tight turn i need to drop it from H to L. Once I make the turn stop again and put back in H and let it run.

I am looking at a conquest that has a mu geared trans. I know people have said the gu low gear is best and to stay away from the hu high gear but what is your opinion on the mu ? thanks
