I started having charging problems a couple months ago with my 99 Conquest. Always ran a little over 13 volts then one day the light came on and it would slowing drain the battery. So last weekend I broke down and bought the alternator kit. Today after reading all the installation horror stories I dove into it. Got a light hooked up and I notice a pulley already on the engine. Sweet! Part of the battle is already won. Then I see something that made me sick. An alternator bolted up and an obvious broken belt. I bought it used and really haven't messed with it other than fluid changes and such. Well since I had to put a new belt on I went ahead and pulled the radiator and put the new alternator on. Pretty easy job. Thank God I didn't have to do the brackets. Long story short. I'm selling a brand new kit with a used alternator missing a belt for $250.
