electrical wire

i am replacing a wire from the ignition that goes to the regulator. does it have to be any certain wire or can i just find one and hook it up?

You will want to go with the same gauge size (example 12, 14, 16, or 18) as the original and it would be wise to go with the same color so it will match the factory wiring schematic.
Be sure you crimp the connectors well.
