well said jim .... after you work on these machines enough hrs. , they don't become so intimidating, especially if one is somewhat mechanically inclined. i would be curious to know from many owners what the ratio is for riding time to time spent repairing,adjusting,modifying and generally keeping them going !! have fun, j.b.

x2... I don't do many modifications to mine, and take about a day before hunting season to go through it and make sure it's ready to go.. I don't use it too much more throughout the year, but if I do, then I tack on a few hours here and there to keep up on it.. Fix it as it breaks or band aid it until it costs too much to repair..

Put all new HDI bearings and mounts in mine last year. I didnt mind working on it but the more you work on these you will realize they are murder on your back.

Yes even for me a teen, it is hard on the back lol

that's one of the main reasons i did my subframe design on my max 2. was hard bending over in that tub. now all the bearings, chains, sprockets and tensioners are easy to get to for upkeep and repairs. my back thanks me !! johnboy va.

I too agree that you will learn valuable lessons in the shop with this machine that will get you out of the woods sometime down the road.

Yeah, I'd rather have a machine that I know and won't let me down then a new one that I have no idea about
