  • 2000 bigfoot removing brake disk from output shaft

2000 bigfoot. I can't get the left brake disk off the output shaft. I finally tried a wheel puller to no avail except warping the disk. What is the trick?

I use a 2 jaw puller on the sprocket. I wrap a small piece of the 50-2 chain on the teeth to spread the load. Still break a tooth sometimes. The puller is a pitman arm puller for trucks. Put a bolt with center hole in the end of the output shaft or the puller can damage the shaft. I've had some that required heat and soaked with penetrating oil. good luck they can be a bear.

Thanks for the respond. Pitman arm puller would not fit around my sprocket. I was finally able to get it. Soaked it will penetrating oil, applied heat, used the three jaw puller, and beat the crap out of it will a hammer. Over and over and over for 5 hours but finally broke loose ☺
