Suggestion on removing tranny from a 1992 magnum for cleaning and inspection? Hard to do?

  • #2
It's not to bad if it comes apart easy. Need to remove belt, driven clutch ,primary chains, brakes, and brake rotors. The rotors can be stubborn. Don't pry or pull on the outer area. It's ok to pry right next to the shaft. After all that is off only the bottom mount bolts and it will roll out to the rear.

When taking the brake hydraulic lines off will the fluid leak if the sticks are against the dash block?

Got the brake master cylinders off along with the steering levers, belt guard, belt, clutch and two idler chains! Couldn't get the brake calipers off because I couldn't figure out what held them in place due to dirt on the nut. You actually need a Allan key to get it off. I thought a wrench lol. How heavy is the tranny anyways jw since I have to lift it out myself and being it out on skidoo so ...

I am impressed by the growth I've seen and the tenacity you exhibit in your quest for "how it works"; you will go far.
