  • 650 HD side steps?

I bought a 650 HD a year ago and love the machine, I saw the new Scout 6x6 offers side steps now-my arthritic knees are jealous. Does anyone know if I can retrofit them and use with my plastic super tracks? Or would I have to remove when I have tracks on?

Not sure about the shape/style of your 650 compared to my new 750 hdi, but mine came with the step option. Although I had them leave them off because I wanted as few holes drilled into the outer body as necessary to prevent leaks. I do know they work with tracks because I will be adding Adair pro series soon and they told me the steps would work without interfering with the tracks, but they would not be practical as you can just step on the tracks instead to get in. They also told me the steps act as a mud/grass/debris catcher and do not clean well with the tracks delivering muck to the steps constantly. I would consider that with your situation. Also, with the plastic super tracks the steps may not stick out enough for you to be able to use them. The top track would probably hit your shins if you tried to get your foot on the step. However, consider the source of my input...I am new to these machines and only commenting based on my limited knowledge. But I hope it is accurate and helps you some.

    Thanks,

Thanks for your input less holes in the tub makes sense. Think I'll go for a ride & think about it.
