Argo starter

How long usually does a starter last? Or roughly how many starts will it give you?
Would prefer to know how long for a kohler magnum would last?
Also when my starter stops working do I just take it apart and but new magnets or is it cheaper to buy and new one

It has been my experience with lawnmowers, atv's and other machinery that starters will last a very long time. Typically I see bearings/bushings or the bendix/gear mechanism wear out before magnets or brushes. Of course, the operating environment (heat, dust, battery quality, engine tuning, etc.) has a lot to do with it. I don't know of any particular standard length of time or number of starts to expect from a starter.
