Are the brakes stuck on?
Have you tried to remove the chain and isolate the problem to the trans?
If so you may have broken differential gears or the cage may have loosened from the gear plate, requiring disassembly and inspection of trans..sigpic
My new beer holder spilled some on the trails - in it's hair and down it's throat.
Joe Camel never does that.
Advice is free, it's the application that costs.

Yes sir, I have removed the drive chain and the small sprocket does not turn free, only about a half inch of play in either direction. I am trying to pull off the sprocket hoping that it was a broken key. Super hard to get off though. Does this eliminate the brakes locked up? Also left side drives and turns the tires. no problem. Thanks

I think you may be in there, disconnecting the chains and removing the brakes will isolate trans..
Just one more thing, has the bolt backed out of the caliper and sitting in the disc access hole?
Removal of discs may require a puller and/or some heat.sigpic

I'm thinking the same thing brake bolt out in an access hole. Can't think of a way for output to be locked up and have the differential in the transmission rotate. Even with gears broken up and differential turns output shafts will rotate with it. If the rotor won't turn to access the brake mount bolts you may have to cut a piece of rotor out to get it off. Never had one do that yet.

THANK YOU! it was the bolt in the access hole in the rotor. I live in the Alaskan bush and the only other option was to have it airlifted out to Anchorage for repair, thinking it was the trans. Your help saved me a bundle! This is my first time working on an Argo, its usually my Swamp Fox. Thanks again!
