OK I'm home now, the black plate in the picture is the outer plate, the winch sits on it and it bends upward cuz it has a hole in it that your winch cable goes through. The white plate in the picture is mounted to both the top and bottom "halves" of the inside of the machine. I don't know about U- bolts, I think mine was done at a dealership. So they used the proper brackets.
Here's a couple pictures I took just now, if you look at the bracket that goes underneath my winch and bends upwards it is the black bracket in the pic of the white winch hoop. I use the flashlight and lit up the inside plate the best I could.

If you can get a conquest plate, they should fit. The front body contour is the same.

The older pic that was posted came in Phil and I removed it, all my plates are factory. If you look at the installation instructions of the conquest you'll get a good idea. If Kris sends you some measurements you and a welder should be able to recreate the plates.

The plate mounts to the upper and lower body and wraps around the hoop so you are not pulling on the body alone but also the frame.
Again, if you could buy a Conquest winch brace set you should be set.

ok ive made my decision... im going to either make an angle iron body band or no winch at all. this making pltes is just to difficult for me. so how hard it it to make a body band. and how do mount the winch to it.also would i still need the hoop once i get a body band to help support the winch or no?

The body band is going to be harder to build than the plates. There is a lot of cutting and welding to get the band to conform to the contours of the body. Plus, the body band will add a lot of weight to your machine. I would stick with making the plates only if I were you.

Have been leadbto believe is very similar to a magnum body shape this one has a winch hoop and plate mounted and no engine so i should be able get some fairly clear pictures/ measurments. I agree the body wrap/ rubrail :s alot of work but i cant imagine running without one in brush country maybe im going the wrong way but my argo goes over someprettybig trees if i cant steer around them
