I have a 97 Response 8x8. Can some one tell me how much chain will I need to order to replace all my drive chain in ten foot rools? I believe mine are all double 50 except for the idlers which I think are single 60's.
A 97? should have all double 50, mine is anyway. It took exactly 4 ten ft rolls. One length did #1&2 axles and one primary on each side, another length did #3&4 axles, one side.
Shoup Manufacturing Company has it. The american built chain, not import. Free shipping/no tax. About 10.40 a ft./ Good chain.

Just a thought, you may want to price a 50 ft. roll too. I was able to get a 50 ft. roll for about the same price as (3) - 10' rolls. Plus you get the added benefit of having one large continuous piece of chain instead of having to piece together the 10' rolls. Again, just a though.
I havn't found the double 50 in longer lengths than 10ft. You need 40 ft. If you lay out your old chain for 1st an second axle, and one idler, for one side of vehicle, that is exactly 10ft. The 3rd and 4th axles, you cut a 10ft length in half.

This is the group that we get parts from at work, they are very good and reasonable in their pricing.

Scott Tuggle is the fellow you want to speak to. They carry chains, bearings, sprockets and many other items. Just another source to try.
They have chain in 50 and 100 foot lengths.
Hope this helps with our never ending search for parts.

Do you have a parts manual for your machine? It will give you the pitch of the chain along with the size. Pitch does matter.
Question? What is pitch?
Answer: Pitch is the center to center of the link of a chain or the center to center of the teeth of the sprocket.
Hope this helps.

Chain is measured in 8ths of an inch. So #50 chain will be 5/8 of an inch from the center of the pin to the center of the next pin. It doesn't matter if it is double or single row chain. #40 is 1/2 '', #50 is5/8'', #60 is 3/4". Hopes this helps.
