Nothing stays the same forever,I wouldn't get to concerned change is good for the most part the Argo line is a strong selling product worldwide growth and a new vision going forward with strong backing can only help the company sure there will be some hiccups but in the end a improved product will emerge and we will all benefit.NCT

Brad Darling is the new president, and has been since early last year. I believe he did come from Artic Cat,and is implementing his knowledge from there to ODG. The new 2017 lineup, new names of the units, etc. are all part of some of the cool changes happening now. It's all good.
ODG isn't going anywhere, as far as I know, new owners happen quite a bit,so nothing to get worried about.

LOL, 50 years is a long time to make anything.....do you really think they are going to stop now? Argos are better than ever.

For my 2 cents: That was what many SAAB owners thought back in 1989 when GM got its foot under the proverbial tent, all was going to be good with the infusion of cash and a fresh set of minds, and the rest is history...a 50+ year old company gone after all the technology had been absorbed.

There are many examples of companies succeeding and failing after takeovers. It's all a crap shoot. I was encouraged by this move due to the innovative thinking and marketing that was brought from Arctic Cat (I'm not a AC fan though). I'm a long time ATV/SXS fan and had considered Argos in the past. However, they were always stodgy looking, very limited in use and way under powered. However, with the recent changes I was convinced to make the jump to a HDI. So far I'm pleased. If they continue to make improvements I think you'll see a lot of SXS people make the same jump.

Each machine has it's purpose.. A buddy of mine owns a rzr and loves it.. Both have the same size engine... I wouldn't own it, cuz the places I hunt it wouldn't make it there.. Could I take my argo trail riding in the mountains- for sure.. Would it keep up, probably not, but I don't ride trails at 60 kmh either... Everyone has a preference for what they want, need and can use the best...

I see a lot of good, and some concern at the same time. I don't think ODG should lose focus on the Argo and it's purpose. Making a big change to the gearing options for more speed I think is a big step in the wrong direction. I see it causing more issues with reliability, wear, stress and rider satisfaction in the end. You will never get an Argo to be competitive with a SxS without suspension, so why bother taking a risk in making the reputation of Argo's riding poor by increasing the speed without suspension?
Leave the Argo do what it does best that others just don't stand a chance in, float and swim. Focus on making sure the tracks they sell will swim as well, expand their accessory options and uses, make them more affordable.
I like the package ideas they are coming out with, they should keep that for sure though. Would like to see a fully decked out Frontier 8x8 package all tracked up with the low geared transmission with heater and all. An aluminum bodied model Argo and frame would be pretty cool too! Make a light aluminum cab frame non-ROPS certified so it doesn't affect stability in water but keeps brush away from the cab and a thin aluminum roof for protection from falling branches when bush wacking....

similar thing happened to Chrysler when bought by Daimler , they came in stole all the CASH and TECH infused their B/S and fled. left holding a empty bag.
JUST MY 2 CENTS. DON'T FORGET WHAT HAPPENED TO THE MAX LINE

Again time will tell, did who ever buy controlling shares or all the shares, will it stay Canadian built, will it be built south of the border, was it bought with the AATV business or bought just for the gear company who knows, the good news for myself is that it is not the only company building a 8X8 model so we will see where the chips fall.NCT
