what is the proper replacement engine for an argo magnum? my magnum is still running strong just wanted know just incase this engine takes a durastic crap which i doubt lol. i would like to stick with kohler... maybe the 19hp kohler ?

You'd be able to stick anything in really, possibly even up to a 30hp motor, Briggs, Kohler or other. If you want one, keep your eyes out on Craigslist, deals pop up every once in a whileMeep Meep -

When looking into a Kohler make sure you check the crank shaft output size ! My 18 HP command has a 1.1/8" pto on it. Your smaller engine probly has a 1" pto shaft.Comment

Curtis, at this point of your machine after the rebuild. personally I'd leave it be and just ride for a while. I understand you are researching your options for future catastrophic failures, which is fine but "I" would not do any upgrades to my machine until there was an encountered issue or failure. I hope that all the upgrade questions you have had are simply questions and not keeping up with the Jones' from things people here have done or are doing. Enjoy what you have for now.
Just as an example my personal machine is a 2000 Vanguard2 which has 1080 hours on it and it has had the chains and bearings done 3 times, new idler shafts from preference not failure, and new discs from preference not failure, this rebuild I did add front bearing extensions as I want to put a snow plow on it this (next now) year, and naturally tune up parts as required.
The only issue I've had was when the fuel changed to ethanol based some varnish balled up and clogged the suction tube in the fuel tank and the carb currently needs to be cleaned again, the machine still has the H transmission which sucks on hills but climbs everyone in High range with 2 to 3 people in it, not fast but everytime, and is not track friendly.
