Just full-filled a life time dream of having an Argo- not too sure what year it is, but it's green, has a B&S 18HP v-twin (mid 80's ish??) - everything works good but I wanted to get it serviced to make sure it's all golden, and to my surprise when I phone EVERY ATV service in place in the area they all said no way, no thank you. Even just to chagne the plugs and oil!! Guess I'll do that myself. Anyways if anyone knows anyone around these parts that can do some basic service and maintenance I'd appreciate the tip. While we are talking about tips - my one complaint with the unit is the steering arms - the right side is pretty much perfect but the left side is pulls WAY to far back - you put the jewels at risk every time you want to make a left. I took a quick look at the linkages and it appears to be just a matter of making some adjustments there - but I thought I would though the question out there before I started making a mess of things!! Any thoughts or help appreciated. thanks, B.

There was a place in Westbank, yrs ago, that sold/serviced Argo's. Sorry, I don't remember the name.
I'm not surprised at the answers you got. Reason:
Argo's are truely a LOVE/HATE relationship. When they are running, you love them, but when they need work done, you hate them. They can really be a PITA to work on, and if you need work done you will either need a pocket full of cash, or be prepared to get your hands greasy.
On older machines, a simple job, like an Axle Brng change could take ALL DAY to perform, or it could take an hour..........
Try explaining to customers why one guy pays $100 to get a job done, and the next guy gets the same job done but pays $600.
As for the left steering arm.....
It's not uncommon for a machine to pull one way or the other (for one reason or another). Check your brake pads, my guess is that they are worn out on that side. Adjusting the linkage will probably help, but you should check the brakes anyway.
If you know anyone in the area that also has an Argo, it would probably be worth your while to go visit. Pretty much every Argo owner will have some experience with Maintenance, and should be able to run through the basics with you.

Westside
Yeah I heard about the Westsdie guy too, but it would appear he is long gone. I guess a guy better get mighty familiar with how these things operate. There's a dealer in Salmon Arm so it maybe it's road trip time.
Thanks for your help. PS - love the bush guard I'll have to get to work on one.

Maple Ridge Motorsport here in Maple Ridge might be able to help you. They're probably a little too far to bring your machine but if you need some parts or maybe they can point you to another dealer in the interior.
It't probably a good idea to learn how to work on your Argo. My first service after I bought my Frontier (first oil change, tranny oil change and grease the chains) cost me $400!A brand new machine with like 10hrs. Next service I'll do it myself.

Manual
A service manual is available from any argo dealer (part # 673-04-1) and covers all models from 1992 on. It covers all maintainance, service and removal, disassembly, and reassembly of all components of your argo. Also has all the specifications, etc. I think I paid in the neighborhood of around 30 dollars canadian.
