  • Best place to buy axle bearings?

I just bought my first 6x6, been a dream of mine for quite some time. It's a 2000 Argo Vanguard 6x6. I noticed I have 2 outer bearings that need replacing. Would you guys recommend a good place to buy. Also, should I go aftermarket or OEM?

Thanks, John. I'll give them a call. Would they have the seals as well?

I tried bearings from a bearing shop using the part numbers from buffalo bearings and I wouldn't recommend that. Long story short, the bearings are not the same as factory and therefore cannot be lubed with the grease zerks, so they won't last very long. I will definitely just spring the extra cash and get the actual argo bearings next time.

Well that's no good. I never opened them. Maybe I'll see if I can return them and buy the actual Argo bearings. Anyone else use the buffalo bearings?

Open the bearings and see if they have the grease ports in them. If so, then you should be able to grease them.

Ok, great I'll do that when I get home. What exactly am I looking for? Is it a hole with a ring groove around the bearing? I believe I saw that. I'll take a picture and post it. Thanks everyone!

There are 2 of these holes in the groove. Is this how it gets its grease?

Yeah, in the groove there will be at least one hole and probably two for the grease to go into.
