Picked up this aatv fairly cheap. It is missing some pieces. I have never owned a aatv in the past but have used quads and snowmobiles regularly. I have done all my own maitenence and repairs. I am looking to use this machine in early fall and later spring when the ice on the lake is hard to get to. I am a winter commercial fisherman and I think this machine would give me a little more piece of mind on the thin ice. That being said it looks like the bearings and chains were done fairly recently everything moves freely and tight. Motor is a kec-400. transmission seems to be working well not sure what the make is? It has 3 bolt 1" axles. Some repairs need to be made to the body. Everything in the pictures is what came with it. I have a lot of work to do to say the least. I have been studying this forum and the internet for upgrades I can do on it to make it more reliable. Kicked around the idea of going hydraulic because there are many parts missing. That is out the window. Just wondering everyone's opinion on bearing/ axle upgrades, motor selection, reinforce the body/ strong bumper hitch and winch mounts any useful information that will make this thing stand up to harsh manitoba winters. As well as a good place to find online parts with reasonable prices and shipping. I have a few donor snowmachine and quads. I would like to do it as economical as possible but I am not worried about spending money on it. I need it to be reliable and able to pull a good load doesn't have to be pretty. Thanks for your input I will keep everyone up to date on my progress.

Thank you for the reply. I have pulled the frame getting ready to do some of the plastic repairs. I am going to try the jb 2 part plastic weld. Then put a 3 piece teflon skid plate under it. I do have some time so no rushing here. I don't like walking so I am going to get this right the first time. Is there any benifit to the Argo brand hd axles? I am going to have to modify my frame anyway. Been thinking about older 1/2 ton axles as I have a few around already and they are cheap as are the bearings. Has anyone done this. Not sure where the best place to find Argo parts online but this method might be cheaper and just as strong. Pretty much just thinking while I am writing but might be something to look into.
