  • Buy Now or Wait Until After the 18's Drop?

Looking for some insight on timing my purchase of a my new 6x6. I am getting quotes from dealers now on a 2017. There is some stock out there, but not much, and I don't know if they will drop further in price AFTER the 2018s arrive, or if it is more advantageous for me to do the deal this week.

Does anyone have any experience on this subject?

I have a friend that is a dealer. They tell me that the promotions that are current will soon expire. It's just like purchasing a new car, you get the best deal on those units in the 2017 inventory.

Thanks for the advice. I worked with Ken Bost of Bost Argo in NC. Great to work with. I pick up my new Frontier 6x6 S on Saturday!

I don't know about deals, but when I buy my first and only Argo, I am waiting for the 2018 models. I see it as a once in a lifetime buy. I want the most advanced Argo available.

This is the Argo portion of the 6x6 forum!

I stumbled upon this thread by clicking the "what's new" tab and did not notice it was in the Argo section. I guess all the back and forth about a 2017 vs 2018 machine had me on the edge of my seat.

Good luck on your future purchase! I looked at mine the same way you are when I got mine. And when I bought it was the most up to date for it's time - 2007.. Seeing the new features makes me hope for the lottery win! lol..
Just make sure that you get the options you want done when you pull the trigger and buy it. I added the bilge pump and outboard motor bracket. I used the bilge pump once and the bracket holds my licence plate, but if and when I do, I'm glad I've got them..

Wait for the 2017 specials when the 2018s come out.

ArgoJosh, that was what i did.

I scored a great deal on a fantastic Frontier S 6x6 from Bost Argo in NC. (Ken and Brenda are fantastic to work with, and Ken has forgotten more about Argos than I think I will ever know)

The only things I need to add to this machine are a winch and I need to install my TruTrax. I bought them in December for my old machine.

Can't wait to get to camp this weekend to put it to work, so much to do....

I did the same with my 2016 Frontier Scout 6x6...got a great deal because it was a leftover.
Came very well equipped with all kinds of accessories except of course windshield top and tracks...
Can you please enlighten us on your TruTrax and where you bought them?
                        Thanks

I bought my TruTrax from Richard Clark with Richard's Relics. I bought them for my old 1989 Argo Magnum 8x8 and will be transferring them to the 6x6 with some extra segments as spares. Richard was great to deal with, very informative and very responsive. I cannot say enough good things about the whole transaction. The TruTrax are just like the Argo plastic tracks that came with my old 8x8 (I don't know if they were originals from 1989 or not), and they performed just the same in our flooded pine forest and marsh property on the lower Eastern Shore of Maryland as about 5 other machines with Argo brand factory supplied tracks. I am very happy with them. They were under $1700 delivered to my house 3 days after I ordered them.

I am going to install them this Friday. I am waiting for some clarification from Todd at TruTrax on the number of segments to use since the old tires were 22" and the new ones are 24".

                          Greg

I hope to get everything set up by tomorrow afternoon, planning on heading to camp for the first of many trips out to the marsh!
