any way i can hook up a gravity flow if the fuel pump is gone on the argo i just got?i will need a fuel shutoff, but will it work without problems?

A tank mounted higher than the carburetor should work fine (just be careful where you mount it). Once the carb bowl is filled and everything is working properly, the float will prevent gas from continuously draining into the engine. A shutoff isn't necessary to test if it runs. However, it'll come in handy once you pull the tank off the Argo and prevent gas from spilling everywhere.

I would definitely add a shutoff valve to ANY gravity fed fuel system. All it takes is one tiny spec of debris to get into the seat and your fuel tank will drain into your crankcase while the machine is parked. You could end up doing serious damage to the motor if you then start it up with a block full of fuel.

I've had to use a 2 Liter pop bottle, in a bind once.
Made a hole in the bottle cap that tightly fit the fuel line. Taped the bottle upside down to one of the front windshield supports. Made a horizontal slit near the bottom of the bottle (Near top of bottle when upside down). Flexing the bottle will allow you to pour gas into bottle and when you "unflex" the bottle, the slit will close but still allow air in so fuel can flow. A slit in bottle will not allow too much fuel to splash out of bottle.
Maybe not the best solution, but worked well enough to get me out of the bush.
