  • deep thump noise

i hear a deep thump noise on the right hand side front part of the Argo whenever i turn the wheel a full revolution,it come from up front but not from the transmission,my best guess was maybe a bad jack shaft bearing since the 2 right side front bearings had no play whatsoever. no noise like this on the left side a s i rotated the tire.any idea what it could be i need 3 wheel bearings changed out now anyways so hopefully it is a bearing.

Might just be chain slap. A bad bearing of that size won't really thump as much as it will squeal, unless it's really bad and missing the balls in which case the races would hit each other and make something of a thump noise, but that would be very noticeable and cause a slack chain and allow for chain slap. But, change those bearings out, then lubricate your chains and the tensioners, and check to make sure the tensioners are doing their job.

its not coming from any tensioned chain.either front chain, bearing, jackshaft bearing. front chain is new and jack-shaft bearings have no really noticeable play..... never checked them without chains yet so cant really say. will explore more tomorrow!

carefully check all the sprocket teeth to make sure none have broken off. Chain climbs on broken sprocket teeth then settles with a thump sound.
