      chain adjusters with rubber tracks

      Good evening,

Generally the rubber track system for an avenger can do a great deal of damage to the lower undercarrage if the tire pressure is too high which will cause extream chain windup and can also cause the bearing races to bust as well. I normally use 5 psi in all tires and the vehicle should be operated in marsh or snow condition and not on dry ground where the tracks are not needed. the tires need to slip within the tracks to avoid chain wind up. also ODG supplies a 2 in spacer to lengthen the track which also helps let the tires have room to slip a little in the track system. Be sure this spacer is installed. Have a great day.

I have an 2005 avenger. I put the tracks on last week while hunting and in a matter of about 2 miles I burned the teflon slides right off the chain adjusters. Basically there was not enough slip. Also you might try putting the chain adjusters all the way down to reset the tension. That may have prevented them from breaking.

What I learned is that rubber tracks don't work good in dry conditions.
