I have always feared the dreaded dead battery when out in the Argo. I have carried a large Dewalt style jump box and tire air compressor. But that's a lot of room taken up. I bought the Blue Sea Add A Battery Mini 65a (65 Amp) ACR and two Optima AGM batteries. I drilled two holes in the dash just above the tub next to the fire wall on the right side. I am mounting the switch and ACR flush to the interior of the ARGO. A new central buss ground bar is going in. A new fused panel with LED lights power panel is mounted to the plastic air box that ventilates the engine. All auxiliary lights and auxiliary power plugs and USB plugs and the rear winch will be connected to the new fuse panel, and new auxiliary battery. I have 3 inline 30a breakers to attach. One to the power connection on the new fuse panel from the switch. And the other two in-line from the ACR to the battery + connections. The new rear battery will be mounted in a Group 24 marine style battery box, just below the gas tank and front seat. I am installing U bolts into the rear plasticfloor panel and will put 4 in, one on each side of the battery box. This should limit movement and allow easy strapping and unstrapping of the battery box for removal and access to the chains, gears, etc. I also installed a Garmin dash mount for Echomap Chirp 73CV Panoptix Ice Bundle 7" screen. So while going to and from ice fishing or anywhere else, I can use the GPS function in the ARGO. Once arrived at ice fishing location, simply un-snap the 7" screen and attach to the ice bundle frame. These machines are incredibly customizable. My ARGO is a 2000 Response with 18HP Briggs. Original owner and long time user. Any thoughts, tips, hints, warnings are ............welcome.
