Hi 8wheeler, the snaps on my avenger windshield are fastened to a piece of flat springy steel. one end goes into a groove in the windshield frame and then the second end snaps in to another groove.the snaps can be slid back and forth without removing them from the windshield. Yoy can get replacements from ODG or a dealer. Good luck

          Drilling the winshield frame....

Hello eightwheeler, i will give you my 2 cents on drilling your winshield frame... This summer i was riding my argo hard enough that my winshield frame had come loose and was threathning to split open. I decide to had some extra small self tapping screw for more regidity. BAD IDÉA!!!!!! at the last screw my winshield explode !!!!!

I was happy that my winshield explode that way because i found out that i didn t have the good type of glass, it broke like big salt instead of puncturing (making a huge star) like a car winshield. The bad side is that it cost me hundred $$ to replace it... Worth it if i think that it could had exploded in the face of my 6 year old boy and mine in a trail and far from emergency service... So for me no more drilling in winshield frame....
