  • Looking for some advice

I recently bought a 2000 argo vanguard 2 that came w/the matching argo 4 wheel trailer. Im looking for some advice from you experienced guys about weather or not i should fab up ski's of some sort for this trailer. Id be using the trailer in the winter to get my gear out on the lake for ice fishing. On the lake itself i probably wont need skis, but to get TO the lakeshore ill be going thru some relatively deep snow thru mildly wooded areas. My thoughts are without skis on the wheels, pulling that trailer weighted down with gear would act like a bottom plow on a tractor and bite in. I dont want to get into a situation where the traler gets bogged down & i can no longer go forward, and cant go backward with the trailer attached. Anyone been in this situation before or have any suggestions? Heres a few pics of my argo & an internet pic of the trailer ill be using for reference.IMG_2831_small.jpg

Probably be better off with one of these rather than try to “reinvent the wheel”
It’s what I tow with my Argo and the magnum holds a lot of stuff!

hey kweld...check out online '' rural king outdoor tuff large fish house skis '' . they are 60'' long and 10 1/2 '' wide for the tires. cost around . $ 200.00 atleast it's a good design idea. i think they may be just what you need. good luck , johnboy va.

i have the same argo 6x6 fantastic machine, if you keep in mind that its good up until 5-6 inches of snow your fine, with trax no issue at all. keep the tires soft. there designed to stay on top of the snow/mud not dig in. the bottom of your arga and trailer ar already basically a sled. let us know how you make out....
