1970s argo 6x6 engine awap

hi ,new to the forum, I just bought my first argo. It has the kohler 440, 2 cylinder, 2 stroke motor. The machine is complete and has not been started in 8 years, the starter is frozen, not sure how to post pictures yet. I want to change the engine to something newer so it will be easier to work on and more reliable, I am leaning towards a honda any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Not sure of the year because the vin plate is missing

There are quite a few threads on the swaps members have done, some in the Argo section and some in the engine section. Take your time and read up as much as you can, some modifications to the body and or powerpack will most likely be needed.
You will also need a 4 stroke drive clutch.
