Is it possible to test the fuel pump on the bench? Hook up to a battery with a line in a jar of gas (make sure you don't make a spark!) and see if the pump works. My guess it's the fuel pump.Originally posted by curtisbyrne View Postnew carb, fuel line, filter and tank was just cleaned. i eve used a hand pump to see if fuel could get from the tank and fuel was able to get up the line. for some reason its not pumping.the fuel pump was bought in 2015 off an argo dealer near 200$
idk what to do i tried everything i ran it for minutes on prime and i checked to see if maybe some fuel got n the lines and it was dry. i need some ideas.

got fuel from the tank with a vacuu pump i found. im gonna pull the inlets of the fuel pump and make sure its not clogged and once thats done there no reason why it should not pump fuel

Wish there was a "LIKE" feature, I was going to say the same. Pulling the choke on the carb helps prime and fill up the carb too. I believe it creates more vacuum in the carb to pull the fuel up when hooked up normally. If it gets really bad you can top up the carb too with fuel to get the engine to fire with the intake off to help fire it up when it's sat dry for a while. This is rarely needed to be done except for really cold conditions when it's hard to turn the motor over and it's hard to pump fuel up to the carb.Originally posted by ARGOJIM View PostRemember fuel line is about 5-6 ft (2 meters for you fellas up there) long and the pump only puts out about a spit load at a time, if its all hooked up, disconnect line to carb and and put in bottle then crank engine about 30 seconds at a time 5-10 times letiing starter cool between every 3rd crank.

Curtis you seem fixed on the fuel pump, lets fix on getting fuel to it first.

with the cam all the way up the pump lever still does not make full up and down motion so im assuming its thats why its not getting fuel the pump is 3 years old and was bought from argo dealer so i cant see it being the pump itself. it worked when i put it away and has never has fuel issues. does the cam wear down or anything the lever isnt bent on the fuel pump or anything either

Are you able to draw fuel up the line at all?
Perhaps using a fluid extractor of some kind?
If not you have a hole or a restriction of some kind.

i did not have the prime ball. but i tell u changed the pickup tube though

Wasn't it you who had the primer ball?
My guess is playin with the fuel line you may have cracked the pick up tube letting the pump suck air.
Other guess you are missing the cam with the pump, the only good way to install the pump is with the cam up, fuel pump should be hard th get in needing to push it down to get the bolts in.Last edited by ARGOJIM; 09-25-2018, 04:19 AM.
