I have a frontier 650 8x8 23hp with a 3.3 transmission I never use low range. Just wondering if anybody has ever changed the drive sprockets to get a better top end speed. Don’t plan on ever putting tracks on it

There is another way to go here. I just finished installing a set of the 16 inch wide, 26 inch tall Vendetta tires on my Frontier scout. Naturally the taller tires raise the gear ratio. I have the standard transmission. I your case the Vendettas would give you more top end and make machine almost unstoppable. In my case I found that i could put my machine in low range and find power and performance i never thought possible from an Argo 6x6. I have found that the vandetta tires allow me to climb the steepest grades and give a very close to track like performance in most conditions while offering me a smooth sporty ride and good water speed.

George, just for your information I posted this video showing the installation and clearance of the 16 inch wide Vendetta tire on my Frontier:
The ride is very good, the traction is outstanding, Since I have only run the machine in my pond full of trees and roots I can't give you the full information on swim speed but it seems as if it will be good. I can tell you that there is one section of my pond that has a very difficult climb (very very steep) and that the Vendetta tires pulled right up with out issue. I also climbed over a large stack of fallen limbs and trees. The tires are impressive.
