I use this stuff in a pump sprayer https://www.zoro.com/superclean-clea...gA5A&gclsrc=ds machine up on blocks with the front higher than the rear and drain plugs out, running with the tires turning. spray everything down, then rinse. once it dries, relube the chains. I also pull the tires and grease bearings with the machine running and axles turningA well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

When I cleaned mine out I used a spray can of engine degreaser and a scrub brush.See my photos here.

All depends how bad it is... if you seen my post on the ATV Argo off road FB page I used 2 full 5gal buckets of varsol and took it for a quick spin around the yard a few times... mine is an extreme case tho where it was so bad the chain tensioners we’re sticking, the chains were so caked I couldn’t find the master links and the bilge pump screen was half plugged with crusty chain lube... I tried foaming engine cleaner, spray 9 degreaser and even a few cans of brake kleen and it was just emptying my wallet and not making much difference... now it’s actually pretty clean but I still need to hit it a couple times with soap and water to get the varsol “aroma” out of the machine...
If you can’t find cheap varsol then just use diesel... (insert standard warning about filling an enclosed space with fuel blah blah blah)...
