  • 2014 HDi noise

I finally just purchased a used avenger hdi and have never even driven one. Are these machines fairly quiet when driving? I noticed this one makes some knocking noises on accel or decel. It looks like it's the adjusters going up and down when the chains are whipping. I tried pulling up the tensioner but the chain doesn't seem to be worn enough for it to click to the next step. Is that normal? Also the service brakes don't seem to work very well. You seem to have to put a lot of pressure on the lever to slow down.

I wouldn't worry about it. Chains need to be a little slack or they'll wear pre-maturely. You will get some slap if they are loaded/unloaded quickly. Your brakes problem is most likely from grease on the pads/rotor for spraying the drive chain. I've had the same issue pretty much the whole time i've had mine (2016). I control my speed completely from the throttle. Going downhill just give her small blips of the throttle so the engine brake keeps you slow. Too much time off the throttle and the clutch will open and you will free wheel.

Sounds like it's just normal and have to get used to the machine by driving it
