  • 2000 Bigfoot Briggs engine

I am having carb rebuilt at a Briggs dealer. He tells me I should be using High Test gas in the V Twin Briggs. What are you using?

01 bigfoot with 23 hp B&S motor. I use regular gas but add in the B&S fuel treatment. Haven't had any issues since I started using that stuff.

ethanol is in all grade of gas. they do make ethanol free but it will cost you. As a small engine mechanic ethanol is 60-70 percent of my business. I use a ethanol treatment. and tell my customers to do the same stabill will not fix this and will only prolong your fuel by 3-4 months stabill 360 will treat ethanol . I sell and use stens treatment if you can find it it will hold fuel for up to 2 years. big debate on sea foam i have no opinion either way on it as i do not use it.

I was having all kinds of problems with lawn/garden engines using regular pump gas. Steel gas tanks were rusting on the inside, carbs were plugging up and diaphragms in pumps were eroding away. I found a local station that sold non-ethanol regular for a few cents more and have had zero problems since I started using it exclusively. It works great in all the stock 4 stroke engines and for the engines that have been "worked on" I mix it 50/50 with VP110.

I put pure gas app on my phone for use in the continental US Thank the lord Alaska doesn't get ethanol. I can buy 91 octane for less than regular in Alaska. IMO ethanol should be illegal not mandated.
