  • Older Argo - what model is this?

I noticed in this picture that the word "ARGO" is molded into the front end, at the very top. I haven't seen that in pics here and I'm curious about which models have it. This is a '76 8X8 Avenger?

give an argo dealer the ser.# off the transmission to get an exact year,i think 76 was first year of a ser.# plate on the dash or firewall.75 first year of HDPEbody, prior was ABS.your tires are backwards for swimming althogh i dont think water is a good idea with the extra holes drilled in the front, they sit low in water and nose down!HTH

Argo actually carried that body style right up to 1987, not very common in the 80's but were still available, they actually had 3 different body style in the early-mid 80's, more pics could help determine what year, and the model number plate will ID it as well

          engine pic

I don't own this one, but I might go look at it to see what condition the motor, chains, transmission, etc, are in.

Update: I just got a picture of the 2 stroke Kohler.

Can you tell if it has the T-20 transmission?

Argos use a differatial style transmission. They never used a T-20.
