Wondering if anyone here has experience with these machines, Just moved up from a Prairie Bobcat Jumbo so don’t really have a basis for comparison.

Purchased new and just took it out last night and noticed quite a lot of chain noise, slapping and clunking especially in the 5 to 10 kph range, once I got up to 15 kph it was just the regular whirring I was used to, At one point I also fully stopped engaged low gear made a 180 degree turn stopped again engaged high range drove forward around six feet and the machine made a terrible grinding noise and lost momentum for a couple seconds then went on as usual, is this something to do with dogs not engaging in the transmission or could it be correlated to chain issue?

Also noticed when driving back in the dark the check engine light is constantly on but very dim. I referred to the Koehler service manual and it did state that if a LED was used instead of a 1/4 watt incandescent in the CEL indicator it would remain on dim constant, am I safe to assume this is what is occurring?

Might just be me being paranoid with a new machine but any help would be appreciated, Thanks in advanced

I owned one the first machines with an admiral transmission, a 6x6 650 HD, I also owned a 8x8 HDI with the Admiral transmission. Both machines drove me absolutely crazy with with all the various noise from chains and the transmission, however, once you get past the noise which will never go away both machines were very reliable. Never did get over all the noise but never had any issues other then a blown bearing on the out put shaft of the HDI, and a blown axle bearing.
