Argo 8x8 XTI only moves when turning

Can anyone give me a general idea of where to start the troubleshooting? The machine runs fine but will only move when it is turned left or right in both forward and reverse.

High and low range also? When you arn’t turning and rev engine to engage the clutch does it pick up a load? If so do you see any movement in the chains as it is loaded? My first thought I the main differential is locked up. Any noise before it quit driving?

High/low dog busted, essentially running in neutral, moves when brake applied because it’s over riding the differential. Basically I’m an idiot and my distain for Argo continues ��

Ok that makes sense with that transmission. You have it apart to know that now. Check the two socket head screws that retain the ring gear. If they get loose the gear walks over and hits a fork. This will usually lock up or shift when going downhill. I can’t remember if it hits the reverse fork of range selector. Haven’t seen a broken slider before.
