I just purchased a Argo 6x6 at an auction. This is my first argo and since it was at an auction, I didn't have the luxury of talking to the previous owner. From my research with the serial (BF10392) and Model (V689-58) it is a 1999 Bigfoot. I got it running and went to install the drive belt and ran into an issue.
From everything I've seen the belt can be fed on by placing in on the engine driven side first then rotating the transmission pulley to feed the belt on. The belt that came with it was a GATES Sportline 6007 and it just doesn't seem long enought to do this. Is the Gates an acceptable replacement for the OEM 125-56?
Gates 6007 - 52-1/4" x 1-3/16
Argo 125-56 - 52-1/8 x 1-7/16
Or am I missing something? Do I need to remove the trans outer pulley on this model?
