  • FD620D engine issues

    hi,
my argo has been running great up to a few days ago. it will start fine, run and drive fine when cold. but then will start bogging out/dying as though its getting no fuel. i have replaced the plugs and cleaned out the carb and jets a good few times now with the same issue. sometimes it will rev then die or sometimes it runs okay until it has a load put on it then again it stalls out. its like its not getting enough fuel. but there is definitely plenty getting to the carb and the floatbowl is always full when i take it apart.

    anyone got any ideas?

Have you removed the tins from the engine to make sure there are no mice nests or hornets nests or anything clogging your airflow and possibly making it overheat and vapor lock? I'm probably wrong but I'd check that, if that's all clear you might be getting a weak coil. You already verified you have fuel and it runs until it's warmed up.

Edit never mind I guess you wouldn't have that issue with liquid coolsd

They are prone to sticking valves with ethanol fuel.

One more thing to check is an air leak between the carb & engine, Same symptoms will occur.
