New to owning an argo i have a 2020 frontier 600 6x6 and the manual said to tighten the idler chains after the first 2 hours and after that it says every 50 hours inspect and tighten if needed.
I took the fire wall and floor out, loosened the two clamp bolts with a 15/16 socked and raised the power pack with the two 9/16 jack bolts. chains get tight and then i tighten up the clamp bolts again and ride it and after the first 10 minutes of riding the chains have loads more slop in them and make a loud banging sound when i turn. Get back home and once i loosen off the power pack to re tighten the chains they get tight again without me having to even adjust them. Manual says to torque the clamp bolts with the 15/16 head to 80ftlbs and ive even done 100 foot pounds but doesnt make a difference.
Why are the chains getting loose so fast and why do they get tight again when i loosen off the clamp bolts but wont hold the tension? Also the jack bolts that raise the power pack/tranny are always down to the floor again after a few minutes of riding. Should the not have a jam nut on them to keep them from backing off and the chains loosening off?
HELP!!
