Hi guys,
So I need your advice on re-powering a 1982 Argo HTB model. It's missing the original drive and engine...the drive is not as much problem because I can still get the Comet 780 drive, but the engine might be.
So here's my questions:
1. Is there an engine (Briggs, Kohler, Tecumseh, Honda) that can be bought and pretty much drop in? I believe it had originally an 18hp or 20 hp engine, correct?
2. If so, what brand and model is it?
3. If there really isn't a drop in replacement engine, what engine is the best choice to use and what modifications are needed to make it work?
4. How hard would it be to locate an original engine?
5. What make and model would the original have been?
I'm driving back to Alasaka in the next few days and was hoping to maybe pick up a new engine and haul it back up with me.
