brake fan drawing unemployment

my brake fan quit. fuse is good i noticed it ran sluggish for while now nothing at all. is there usually an issue or do these things just keep working? maybe a little wiring issue? i looked at it it looks like a pain to remove. anyways my question can i ride still with the hood off to aid in cooling without the brake fan until i get a new one or sort this one out or is it a must have. its a dumb question cuz it obviously wouldnt be there if it was essential

Well the brake fan on my bigfoot is ducted to a boot that covers the brake discs to provide direct cooling. How effective it is I don't know but air does blow on the discs. No fan running and hood off won't get you direct air blowing on the discsright.
drive around a bit and check the heat on the brake discs and I think you will get your answer.
Yes you can run the way you say but will probably incur damage for a prolonged period of time.
