Chain lengths for conquest

Hi there, can anyone tell me how much chain I'd need to replace all chains on an 8x8 conquest (1996)?... and how many links for each of the lengths needed?

Find the manual for your serial number; on the Frame and Drive System page you will see the number of pins per chain, as well as chain size/type.

So, I've got some new chain coming and planning in my head how I'm going to do this. Any pitfalls that those that have changed the chains have come across? I'm guessing I'll clean the new chain in whitespirit (assuming it comes greased), then soak in a dry lube before fitting. I'm going to split it myself so guess I just count the links to get the correct lengths.
Does that sound reasonable? Any hints/tips?
