  • need help on older 70s model argo 8x8

i have what i believe is a older 70s model argo 8x8 i bought and fixed up. re fiberglassed it and everything. took the motor and trans out to fiberglass it but when i put it back together it does not seem to want to run just right and does not want to turn right. any suggestions on problems mainly need help with the turning. would really like to see if there is someone around the houston texas area that could look at it for me. i have tried several things but with no luck i really want to get it going. any help would be great thanks in advance

Hey I just got an old 8x8 argo up and running myself and also had some issues turning. mine would not lock the tires on the right side and thus wouldn't turn to the right I cleaned the brakes with some sandpaper and brake clean and then lubed the calipers and adjusted them , the steering is now easy and responsive , my 8 year old can drive it around with no issues . anything that had been sitting will require some TLC to get running again . Another thing that could effect your steering is a busted sheer pin/bolt on the drive you should be able to tell if it seems like its not driving on the left , also these are hard to steer on pavement try it on some grass or gravel and see if it performs better .
    good luck with your machine
