  • My new 07 argo avenger

So i picked up an 05 argo avenger with the aegis lh775 efi engine. The PO told me that the machine would not run and that he installed a new fuel pump. The po stated he got the machine and never had it running. The machine would run using starter fluid.

Low and behold the fuel pressure at the rail is only 5psi. The machine needs 39 +/- 3 to run correctly.

I either need to find a fuel pump and fuel pressure regulator from and argo or i can adapt a high pressure pump and use an adjustable furl pressure regulator and turn it to the required 39 psi. Thoughts please

Have you tested the pressure right at the tank\fuel pump? If you go the aftermarket way with an adjustable regulator, don't go cheapest way possible. Get one that's readily available & of decent quality. Personally I think every injected engine should have a fuel pressure gauge easily visible. Quickest way possible to detect faulty pump or regulator issues.

Nope just at the fuel rail. The PO installed an aftermarket fuel pump and could never get it to run. When i checked the manual it statrd 39 psi at the rail itself. I wouldnt think there would be a blockage in the fuel rail

Could be a pinched, or plugged line, plugged fuel filter. Hate to see people spend money on something if that's not the problem. I've had a couple projects where I didn't to a thorough diagnosis Only to find out later half the stuff I bought wasn't needed. Kicked myself in the ass for wasted money & additional downtime. Would have taken me an additional 10-15 minutes & saved me a considerable amount of money, time, & cursing

No it was definitely the fuel pump. I am just now waiting for my fuel pressure regulator to get here so i can start figuring stuff out. The po removed the fuel filter and the fuel pressure regulator
