  • Throttle hand fatigue; is there an adjustment

2011 Frontier 8x8 with the 23 hp Vanguard. Is there an adjustment of the throttle tension on this machine. I can't imagine running this machine for hours at a time since after 10 minutes I need to use my left hand so my right hand can rest. Could somebody tell me if there is any adjustment for tension. Thanks in advance

Change the spring by the govenor. Once you remove the air cleaner housing, you'll see where the throttle cable is affixed, there is a spring there. Remove and get a lighter one. Did it to my 6x6 big foot. Just went to Napa and found a lighter one. Any carb return spring will work provided length is same. You can also get ones that you can bend the ends to suit the application. Get a couple that are of different rates. Then you can get it to what you want. Hope that helps.

have a hand on the key ready to shut it off after you change the spring in case it isn't strong enough to pull it back down to idle. test a few times before you put the filter assembly back on

Does that machine use a twist grip throttle like my old Vanguard 6x6? I know that my wrist goes to hurting when operating it after just a few minutes... I'm about to convert it over to a thumb throttle like an ATV...
