Haven't experienced it but have heard of the little center latch coming loose while pulling it down the road on a trailer.

I’ve got an original hood and latch setup that is coming off of my 2003 Bigfoot as the new motor is too big to get underneath. I’m having a new aluminum hood made, so if anyone is interested, I’d let mine go to get your project finished.

I thought about that the night I bought mine after pulling it home in an open trailer... drove for 4 hours (roughly 250km) and it was still on when I got her home. I got lucky.
