  • 3 wheel drive

I thought that Argo fixed the 3 wheel drive problem with the admiral transmission. I have a 2020 Aurora 950 and today I was going up a hill with some ice on it. I was going slow because I wanted to spin to check this out. One side just spun and until I applied some brake then the other side spun. With the bars straight only one side would spin.

I have the same problem with my 2021 6x6. With handlebars straight 3 wheels on one side move. I have to keep bars turned slightly to have 6 wd, I also noticed if I hit brake lever it would engage 6 wd. I guess these Argos have quirks . This is my first one. Not sure if theirs any solution

I have seen Admiral transmissions do this on occasion, I not sure why, seems that sometimes they don't seem to work as planned, for what ever reason some times you have you have to rapidly move the handle bar back and forth, I am not sure exactly what this does but after that it will generally straighten itself out. I have never seen an Admiral do this in the mud, only in limited traction situations.

Grizzley - did not know this about the 6x6. Thought it was always 6 wheel drive. Thanks for info , looking at 6x6 this weekend

All machines have quirks. Was on a ride awhile back and a Max4 was doing the same. I helped the owner to diagnose the problem, his right side chains had so much slack that little if any power was being transmitted, after I took up the slack in his adjusters, the machine went back to normal.

Fitter, it’s still a fun machine regardless, you start to figure it out. Best thing I can say about an Argo” Good at everything , but great at nothing” Ha,ha,ha.. I’m enjoying turtling around with this thing. It’s pretty cool. Good luck
