  • Where are you getting your belts?

Is there a place to get a better price on the belts? or are there that sells better/longer lasting belts?

Don't know if if this helps but I get my belts from Napa.
Gates #48G5122-1 or dayco #HP2036. These are for my Bigfoot. They cost me roughly $79 for the gates and $90 for the dayco CDN $. I personally love the dayco belts. Are they pricey for belts in your area? I've heard of people paying up to or over $200 for belts. If I had to pay that much I would be doing lots of sourcing around. There are Kevlar belts you can get and they last a long time. Pricey, initially but last a very long time under servere abuse. These are just a few of my opinions. There is an abundance of knowledge on this site you may find your answers. Hope some of these aatv masters might give a better source for your needs.

There is a gentleman who goes by the handle of buzz. He's in Alaska I do believe. He's a wealth of knowledge.

Here is a PDF list of extreme duty belts made by Timkin. Just go down the list find the one your Argo needs, do an internet search for the belt you need and you will have several sources and prices at your finger tips. I purchased a heavy duty belt for my Argo 950 SX delivered to me for $66.86

I buy mine on Ebay, usually about half price as long as you have a number to search for.

I am still on my original belt, but I only have 350 hours on the machine. How many hours do they last? Maybe I should buy one now and keep it as a spare.

You should have had a spare the day you bought the machine. An Argo belt can go out (not be effective) any time. I would say you are a very lucky owner.

There is an old one under the seat. I looked up a new one and it is 285 every place I look.

Hey msta999, take a ride down to Allseasons argo in Anchorage or give them a call and talk to Nate. He's my go to guy with my 2016 hdi. I checked Grainger for the good chains and I ended up getting them from the dealer, the price was closer than you would expect and they are the right length. The belts are spendy but if you end up using your machine like I do you won't go cheap. I have almost 400hrs on mine and it shows almost no wear. You are going to go places you can't walk out of and you know whats out there, think about that when you have a moose or caribou in the back and your 30 to 40 miles off the road. I know there are some great dealers out there but these guys are some of the best so I support them and they not out to screw you. If you need parts they have them and will talk you through your repairs. They also go on a lot of rides and sponser some rallies with other Argo riders around Anchorage and Wasilla. They are also very good about mailing out your parts so you don't need to drive to the city. I live in Delta so I call if I need tech advice. Look them up on FB if you have it. Oh I know Buzz also, he is everything others have said he is, great guy. I bought some of his tracks and I love them.
